Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman

One of the better horror novels I’ve read in the past few months, that was good enough to get the deluxe treatment of being gifted to someone else, was Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman. Not to be confused with Between Two Ferns, yet just as entertaining. I’d heard about this in the horror lit forums for a while, and saw it was on sale so picked it up, even though the premise wasn’t exciting to me. Literally other people’s excitement and satisfaction was the only reason I gave it a shot. While nothing in the story ended up making me sleep with the lights on, I found it to be completely engrossing. I finished it in 3 days, even while working on my own writing and holding down a full time “adult” job. I won’t bore you with a summary, it’s easy to google, but I highly recommend this one to anyone just looking for a good story period.
